Dibru-Saikhowa National Park is a stunning and ecologically rich protected area located in the Tinsukia district of Assam, India. Dibru-Saikhowa is also known for its feral horses, descendants of domestic horses that were abandoned during World War II and have since adapted to the wild.

Other important mammal species found in the park include the royal Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, clouded leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, hoolock gibbon, capped langur, and Gangetic river dolphin, which can often be spotted in the Brahmaputra River. The park is dominated by a mix of moist mixed deciduous forests, grasslands, and swampy wetlands, supporting a variety of flora such as sal, silk cotton, and various medicinal plants.

The changing river courses of the Brahmaputra and Dibru Rivers constantly shape the park’s landscape, creating numerous sandbars, marshes, and riverine islands, enhancing its beauty and ecological diversity. A major attraction for visitors is the boat safaris on the Brahmaputra and Dibru Rivers, allowing tourists to explore the park’s rich wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

The park is accessible from Tinsukia, which is the nearest town, and visitors can reach the park via Guijan Ghat or Dhola Ghat, the main entry points.
